Turkiye hosted the BNP Paribas Word Team Cup World Group for the fifth time since 2010 when the men’s, women’s, quad and junior titles at the ITF’s flagship wheelchair tennis team event were decided in Antalya on 6-11 May 2025.
Japan won the men's title for the fourth time since 2007 after defeating first-time finalists Chile 2-0.
Netherlands regained both the women's and quad titles, the Dutch women's team becoming World Team Cup champions for the 34th time after defeating second seeds Japan 2-1 following a deciding doubles match that was settled in a deciding match tie-break.
The Dutch quad team were crowned World Team Cup champions for the fourth time in five years after beating first-time finalists Brazil 2-0.
Great Britain won the junior title for the second time in three years and for the fourth time in total after beating 2024 champions USA 2-0.
44 teams contested the World Group titles across the four different competitions following the four BNP Paribas World Team Cup Qualification events that took place in February and March, as follows:
• 17-21 February: Americas Qualification - Cuenca Tenis y Golf Club, Cuenca, Ecuador
• 18-22 February: African Qualification - Club Wifaq Tennis Rabat, Rabat, Morocco
• 26 Feb-2 March: Asian Qualification - Sri Lanka Tennis Association, Colombo, Sri Lanka
• 19–23 March: European Qualification - Ali Bey Club Manavgat, Antalya, Turkiye
Four men’s teams, four women’s teams and two quad teams progressed from the qualification events to the World Group, with the Americas and European Qualification events hosting qualifying draws for the quad World Group.
Following the four regional qualifications and the confirmation of wild cards awarded by the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Committee, Brazil, Great Britain and Japan shared the distinction of having teams entered in each of the men’s, women’s, quad and junior draws, while many of the sport’s top ranked stars from the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour played for the .
The junior event once again featured many players who continue their development through the ITF Junior Wheelchair Tennis programmes and events supported by the Johan Cruyff Foundation.
While Turkiye became just the third nation to host back-to-back BNP Paribas World Team Cup World Groups since the very first World Team Cup in USA in 1985, the 2025 event saw the World Group return to Ali Bey Club Manavgat, the venue for the 2010, 2013 and 2015 World Groups.
BNP Paribas has been title sponsor of the World Team Cup since 2012.
Japan’s full quota of teams for each of the four competitions at the 2025 BNP Paribas World Team Cup World Group followed on from Japan’s double success in the men’s and women’s draws at the Asian Qualification.
While Japan have previously won both the men’s and women’s World Group titles, Netherlands were former multiple champions in the quad World Group, but the Japanese men's and women's teams and the Dutch quad team all had to come through their respective Asian and European Qualifications this year after Japan missed key players in 2024 and the Netherlands didn't contest the quad World Group due to focusing on preparations for the Paris Paralympic Games.
Great Britain and USA, the 2024 men’s and juniors champions. both set out to try and defend their respective titles, with the men’s World Group featuring a team from Iraq for the first time since 2010, when Antalya first hosted the World Team Cup. The junior draw included a team from Germany for the first time in 20 years.
While former champions Netherlands and Japan went on to contest the women’s World Group final for the ninth time since 2021, Tanzania made history in Antalya after having a team entered in the women’s World Group for the very first time.
Colombia also made history with a team entered in the quad World Group for the very first time after winning their combined Americas and Asia qualification.
Antalya had hosted the World Group four times previous to 2025 – in 2010, 2013, 2015 and 2024 , with the 2010, 2013 and 2015 editions taking place at Club Ali Bey Manavgat, the host venue for the World Group once again this year.
The BNP Paribas World Team Cup, often referred to as the Davis and Billie Jean King Cups of wheelchair tennis, has its origins in a precursor event in California in 1985 involving six men’s teams. The women’s competition began the following year, with quad and junior events introduced in 1998 and 2000 respectively. Due to the increased number of teams wanting to take part, the ITF introduced regional qualifying for the men’s and women’s events in 2012.

Entries for the 2025 BNP Paribas World Team Cup World Group following the four regional qualifications and the allocation of wild cards
