The ITF World Tennis Masters Tour consists of over 500 tournaments in over 70 nations. The tournaments are for amateur tennis players aged 30 and over to enjoy the many benefits of competing in age group competition.  

The Tour mission is to make Masters tennis the largest sport in terms of player participation for all aged 30 and over. Over 30,000 players currently take part in the Tour. 

There are many enriching benefits to playing on the WTMT. For some people they compete for only one of these benefits, whilst for others they may compete for most, if not all these benefits. Some of the key benefits the players highlight include:

The youngest age group is 30 and over. Eligibility is based on the year of birth, so a player born in 1993 is eligible to play the 30 and over age group in 2023 (the year in which they turn 30). 

Age groups are available in 5-year increments, from 30 and over, to 90 and over. 

ITF WTMT Age Groups: 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85 90 

Tournaments vary in size and can have anywhere from 50 to 500+ players competing at some of the largest tournaments on the Tour. Events exist in singles, doubles and mixed doubles and many tournaments offer an excellent overall tournament experience through social events that run alongside the tennis. The ITF encourages all tournaments to offer a consolation event in singles so that players have the opportunity to play at least two singles matches. 

Players can enter singles and/or doubles at tournaments. The specific events offered to players are decided by the Tournament Director of each WTMT tournament.  

If you wish to play doubles, you can enter with a partner you know. If you need a partner – contact the Tournament Director who will do their best to find a partner for you in any doubles event offered. 

A player can enter a maximum of three (3) events with a maximum of one (1) singles event.  Due to the number of days and courts available, some tournaments may further limit the number of events that a player can enter.  This information will be published on the ITF’s Online entry system (IPIN) website (in the calendar section on the factsheet tab which is available for each tournament). 

All players must register with the ITF to enter and play tournaments. Registration must be completed through the ITF’s ‘IPIN’ system which is available in English, Spanish and French. Registration should take no more than 5 minutes. 

It is free to register for an ITF World Tennis Masters Tour player membership (IPIN) and to become a member of the WTMT global community. All registered players have access to the tournament entry system. 

When entering a tournament, players will be required to play an ITF IPIN fee of $7 USD per tournament (2024) and a tournament entry fee.

The IPIN fee is capped at eight (8) tournaments. Once a player reaches this in a calendar year, the IPIN fee is not charged for an addtional tournament entries. 

The entry fee varies depending on the location and grade of event – and is payable directly to the tournament organiser.

You can access IPIN here  Once you have accessed your account, click on the calendar option and search for the specific tournament (various filters are available to help you search).  Once you have found the tournament, you will have various options including the option to enter (a green entry sign will be visible). 

Yes, in most instances, the Entry Deadline is at 10.00 GMT on the Tuesday six (6) days prior to the Monday of the Tournament week. There are some exceptions to this, and full information for a specific tournament will be available in the factsheet tab located in the online entry system (IPIN). 

Yes, in most instances the withdrawal deadline is 10.00 GMT on the Tuesday six (6) days prior to the Monday of the Tournament week (same as entry deadline). There are some exceptions to this, and full information for a specific tournament will be available in the factsheet tab located in the online entry system (IPIN).  Any entry fee payments made in advance will be refunded up to this date/time. 

Before a player can enter a tournament, the organizers must provide detailed information about this specific tournament (known as a factsheet).  Players can view this important information on the online entry system (IPIN) under the factsheet tab which appears for every tournament when using the calendar option.  If the factsheet is not available, it will not be possible to enter, and a message will appear to advise you that the factsheet is not available at this time.  

Yes, provided you are of an eligible age and have registered with an WTMT membership (IPIN). You do not have to have an ITF Ranking to play on the Tour.  

However, please note that a limited number of tournaments at higher grades do have an ITF ranking cut off due to limited draw sizes. 

Advice would be to enter tournaments that are most local to you.  The grading system below will help you decide which tournament grade to enter. If you have friends that already play ITF Masters events, ensure that you ask them as many questions as possible.  If you are unsure of anything, either contact the Tournament Director of the specific tournament (contact information in the factsheet) or email the ITF Masters Department (masters@itftennis.com)  

There are 6 tournament grades which indicate the strength and size of player field at WTMT tournaments. 

    1. World Championships (1600 Ranking Points to Individual Event Winners) 

    This is the highest level of event on the WTMT, with Team and Individual Championships. There is only           one World Championships each year. 

    2. MT1000 (1000 Ranking Points to Event Winners) 

     This is the highest grade of tournament, with between 12-15 MT1000 available for each age group and         gender event each year. For example, Men’s Singles 55. These tournaments are aimed at top level               national and international level players. 

    3. MT700(700 Ranking Points to Event Winners)

     A high-level, prestigious tournament with experienced organising committees in place. There are a               limited number of MT700 tournaments which are aimed at top level national and international level               players. 

    4. MT400 (400 Ranking Points to Event Winners) 

     This is the mid-level grade of the WTMT which attract a good volume of players. Most players are from         the host nation, although there is a likelihood that international players will be within all or most draws.       These are established tournaments with proven levels of high-quality tournament delivery. Draws often         feature several highly ranked players, although many players within a draw will have a lower ITF ranking       in their age group. 

    5. MT200 (200 Ranking Points to Event Winners) 

     The calendar consists of a large volume of MT200 tournaments which are largely aimed at club level             players in the host nation. However, a limited number of international players are likely to feature in             various draws – creating a unique international dynamic to the tournament. Most participants in MT200         tournaments have a low or mid level ITF ranking in their age group, with a considerable number of               players with no ITF ranking. 

    6. MT100 (100 Ranking Points to Event Winners) 

     The MT100 grade is the entry level ITF WTMT grade. The tournaments are aimed at local players to             experience the unique benefits of competing in ITF competition, and to achieve their first ITF Ranking.         Tournament draw sizes are often smaller with events completed in 3 or less days in most instances.  

Yes, the ITF WTMT – World Team Championships takes place each year for 30-85.  Teams/Players can only be nominated by their National Association.  Each nation has a National Association who is responsible for their tennis competitions.   

What is the World Individual Championships? 

This is the pinnacle of the ITF WTMT, offering the highest number of ITF Masters world ranking points and the title of World Champion. Players enter the World Championships in the same way as other tournaments via the Online Entry System (IPIN)

This is also referred to as IPIN website.  This system allows you to view the calendar, enter and withdraw tournaments and provides you with detailed information about a specific tournament (also referred to as a factsheet).    

This also provides a player with a ‘dashboard’ which shows a player the tournaments that they have currently entered. 

Players can renew their membership (after 1 year) - To renew your membership, login to your IPIN account. Click "My Profile" then "Subscriptions" - you will see the option to renew your membership here if necessary. 

Player can also change their password or email address by clicking on their profile.

You can use IPIN membership immediately after completing your registration.

Yes, log into the Online Service and select the Add Circuits button within the My Profile section. You can then choose which additional Circuit to add to your membership depending upon your age. Note an upgrade fee will be required if selecting to add a Circuit which has an annual membership fee, i.e. if choosing to add Pro IPIN to an existing Masters membership.

If a player forgets their membership details and cannot login to their account, they can reset this by choosing the option to reset your details available from the Entry System home page
