Zidansek ends two-year wait for silverware with W75 Bucharest title

07 Jul 2025

Former world No. 22 Tamara Zidansek ended a near two-year wait for a professional singles title after triumphing on the ITF World Tennis Tour at W75 Bucharest.

The 27-year-old Slovenian defeated Nuria Brancaccio 6-1 7-5 on Sunday for her 22nd professional crown – 19 of which have come on her favoured clay - but first since she won the WTA 125 crown in Bari in September 2023.

This weekend’s victory was her 18th at ITF level - and her first slice of ITF silverware since 2018.

Zidansek cantered to the title in Romania without dropping so much as a set – quite a week, given she hadn’t managed previously managed to put together back-to-back match wins since March.
