Vidmanova making a splash on the ITF World Tennis Tour after college

07 Jul 2025

Life after college is looking pretty sweet for Darja Vidmanova.

The 22-year-old Czech looks to be seamlessly transitioning from her remarkable college tennis career to the professional game after securing the biggest title of her fledgling career on American hard courts at W100 Cary, North Carolina, this weekend.

Vidmanova, who this year became only the third woman in NCAA history to win the NCAA Team, singles, and doubles titles, is proving similarly dominant on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

Vidmanova defeated 18-year-old American Monika Ekstrand 6-3 6-1 on Sunday for her seventh ITF singles crown overall – having won her first only 12 months ago.

The triumph was also her third consecutive title – following her wins at W35 Santo Domingo in late May and W75 Sumter in early June – and improved her winning streak to 15 matches on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

Creating impressive numbers on the court, Vidmanova is au-fait with them off it too having graduated the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in finance.

A former junior world No. 21, Vidmanova is set to rocket over 100 spots in the WTA rankings after Wimbledon. She currently sits at a career-high 176 in the live rankings.
