Turkiye to host 2025 BNP Paribas World Team Cup: Dates and Venues
Turkiye will host the BNP Paribas Word Team Cup World Group for the fifth time since 2010 when the men’s, women’s, quad and junior titles for the ITF’s flagship wheelchair tennis team event are decided in Antalya on 6-11 May 2025.
Up to 44 teams will vie for the World Group titles across the four different competitions with the four BNP Paribas World Team Cup Qualification events taking place in February and March, as follows:
• 17-21 February: Americas Qualification - Cuenca Tenis y Golf Club, Cuenca, Ecuador
• 18-22 February: African Qualification - Club Wifaq Tennis Rabat, Rabat, Morocco
• 26 Feb-2 March: Asian Qualification - Sri Lanka Tennis Association, Colombo, Sri Lanka
• 19 – 23 March: European Qualification - Ali Bey Club Manavgat, Antalya, Turkiye
• 6-11 May: World Group - Ali Bey Club Manavgat, Antalya, Turkiye
Four men’s teams, four women’s teams and two quad teams will progress from the qualification events to the World Group, with the Americas and European Qualification events both set to host qualifying draws for the quad World Group.
While Turkiye becomes just the third nation to host back-to-back BNP Paribas World Team Cup World Groups since the very first World Team Cup in USA in 1985, the 2025 event sees the World Group return to Ali Bey Club Manavgat, the venue for the 2010, 2013 and 2015 World Groups.
Since the introduction of regional qualifying in 2012, Turkiye has also hosted the European Qualification event on several occasions, including for five years in succession from 2012 through to 2016, with this year’s European Qualification and World Group both being staged at Ali Bey Club Manavgat.
BNP Paribas has been title sponsor of the World Team Cup since 2012.
Up to 16 nations will contest the men’s World Group, 12 nations will contest the women’s World Group, eight nations will contest the quad World Group and eight nations will also contest the junior event in Antalya in May, with the junior event once again supported by the Cruyff Foundation.
Direct Entries for 2025 BNP Paribas World Team Cup
Twenty-eight teams have earned direct entry for the 2025 BNP World Team Cup following their results at the 2024 World Team Cup in Antalya. Nations that finished in positions 1-10 in the men’s event, positions 1-8 in the women’s event, positions 1-6 in the quad event and positions 1-4 in the junior event will be heading to Antalya again this May.
The BNP Paribas World Team Cup, often referred to as the Davis and Billie Jean King Cups of wheelchair tennis, has its origins in a precursor event in California in 1985 involving six men’s teams. The women’s competition began the following year, with quad and junior events introduced in 1998 and 2000 respectively. Due to the increased number of teams wanting to take part, the ITF introduced regional qualifying for the men’s and women’s events in 2012.
