Mboko's remarkable run takes in fourth straight ITF title

24 Feb 2025

Victoria Mboko continued her remarkable run of form on the 2025 ITF World Tennis Tour this weekend, capturing her fourth successive title with victory at W35 Manchester.

The 18-year-old Canadian, who defeated Frenchwoman Manon Leonard 7-6(0) 6-2 in her latest final on British hardcourts, is now on a 22-match winning streak that has also taken in the titles at W35 Le Lamentin (Martinique), W35 Petit Bourg (Guadeloupe) and W75 Rome (USA),

What’s more she has achieved the feat without dropping so much as a set, winning all 42 of the completed sets she has contested since the turn of the year.

Mboko is a former junior world No. 6, having reached the girls’ singles semi-finals at both Wimbledon and the US Open and finished runner-up in doubles at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon in 2022.

She reached a career-high WTA ranking of No. 212 earlier this month, and is set for a further rise if this scintillating run of form continues.

Elsewhere, 27-year-old Czech Gabriela Knutson won the most significant title on the ITF World Tennis Tour this week - claiming the biggest title of her career to date at W75 Prague and rocketing 50 spots into the top 200 as a result.
