Sinja Kraus has been named ITF World Tennis Tour Player of the Month for March after an excellent run of form saw her capture titles on both clay and hard courts.

Nominated for the award alongside Hyeon Chung, Antonia Ruzic and Lizette Cabrera, the Austrian came out on top in the fan-vote held on both the ITF website and Instagram stories.

“I am extremely happy with my two titles in March," said Kraus. "Especially because they were on two different surfaces, the first one on hard court and the second one on clay."

The 22 year-old matched her best tournament win at W50+H Macon, which was her first hard court title since 2018 and first at W50 level on the surface. Given how much success she's already had on clay, it was another big step forward.

After this milestone, she went on to claim the biggest win of her career at W75 Szekesfehervar - her 11th title on the ITF World Tennis Tour. This was an exceptional achievement and also followed a highly positive trend for Kraus.

Since 2021, the Austrian has won her highest level tournament each season, consistently out-performing herself from the year before. Not only does this show Kraus' year-on-year improvements, it highlights the opportunities for progression on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

"Overall, I felt very good on court and am looking forward to many more tough battles and climbing up the rankings," said Kraus. "It means a lot to me being voted player of the month and feeling all the lovely support!”
