Prozorova keen to improve, but delighted with W50 New Delhi win
Tatiana Prozorova made a strong start to her 2025 season on the ITF World Tennis Tour after battling back from the brink to defeat Panna Udvardy in the final at W50 New Delhi+H.
The 21-year-old claimed the sixth ITF women’s singles title of her career after saving match points in a 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4 triumph over the Hungarian at the Indian hard court event.
She could be delighted with her win – even if perhaps a little hard on herself when reviewing her performance.
“After this match I understand that I need to improve my… everything,” Prozorova said. “My game, my footwork….
“[But] I’m really happy that I won this match and saved some match points.”
Prozorova will remain in India for the W75 Pune event next week, which follows the first W100 tournament of the year in Bengalaru this week, where world No. 86 Tatjana Maria is top seed.
Hanne Vandewinkel was also a winner at W50 level this weekend, claiming her ninth ITF singles crown - and the joint-biggest of her career - after winning at W50 La Marsa.
The 20-year-old Belgian, who fell to Eva Lys in the first round of Australian Open qualifying the previous week, bounced back with five successive straight-sets wins - including at 6-4 6-1 triumph over Poland's Linda Klimovicova in Sunday's final.
