Boisson's sweet ITF triumph after eight months on the sidelines

12 May 2025

Lois Boisson won her first title of the year at W75 Saint-Gaudens as she stepped up her ITF World Tennis Tour comeback in style.

The 21-year-old Frenchwoman was sidelined from the tour for eight months after suffering an ACL injury at a WTA 125 event in Paris 12 months ago.

Boisson might’ve feared a longer road back to the title-winning form that saw her collect four titles in the first half of 2024, but she made light work of the field on home clay last week.

Bar a three-set contest with Gabriela Knutson in the first round, she didn’t drop another set all week – ultimately clinching the title with a 7-6(4) 6-0 victory over Tatiana Prozorova in the title match.

It was also another good week for Great Britain’s Fran Jones, who won her second W75 title of the year with victory at W75 Prague.

Jones, who also triumphed at W75 Vacaria in Brazil at the end of March, won 10 consecutive sets last week – including a 6-3 6-4 win over Japan’s Ena Shibahara in the final.
