Teams from 20 countries are set to contest the 2025 BNP Paribas World Team Cup World Group when the ITF’s flagship wheelchair tennis team event returns to Antalya, Türkiye, for the fifth time from 6-11 May.

Following the four regional qualifications in February and March and the confirmation of wild cards awarded by the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Committee, Brazil, Colombia, Great Britain and Japan share the distinction of having teams entered in each of the men’s, women’s, quad and junior draws, while many of the sport’s top ranked stars from the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour will participate.

The junior event once again features many players who continue their development through the ITF Junior Wheelchair Tennis programmes and events supported by the Johan Cruyff Foundation.

Four men’s teams, four women’s teams and two quad teams progressed through the regional qualification earlier this year, with Brazil’s women’s team and Colombia’s men’s and quad teams all doing so from the BNP Paribas World Team Cup Americas Qualification.

Japan’s full quota of teams for each of the four competitions at the 2025 BNP Paribas World Team Cup World Group follows on from Japan’s double success in the men’s and women’s draws at the Asian Qualification.

While Japan have previously won both the men’s and women’s World Group titles, Netherlands are former multiple champions in the quad World Group, but also had to come through the European Qualification this year after being another nation to miss key players in 2024 as part of their preparations for the Paris Paralympic Games.

Great Britain and USA, the 2024 men’s and juniors champions, are set to defend their respective titles, with the men’s World Group featuring a team from Iraq for the first time since 2010, when Antalya first hosted the World Team Cup. The junior draw will include a team from Germany for the first time in 20 years.

While former champions Netherlands and Japan will again be among the chief contenders for the women’s World Group, Tanzania will make history in Antalya as they have a team entered in the women’s World Group for the very first time, having finished runners-up to Morocco at this year’s African Qualification.

Colombia will also make history with a team entered in the quad World Group for the very first time after winning their combined Americas and Asia qualification.

Antalya has hosted the World Group four times previously – in 2010, 2013, 2015 and 2024 , with the 2010, 2013 and 2015 editions taking place at Club Ali Bey Manavgat, the host venue for the World Group once again this year.

Türkiye earned a first World Team Cup medal in 2024 when their quad team finished in silver medal position behind Chile and the Turkish quad team will bid to go one better this year.
