The ITF junior team competitions currently cover two age groups: 14 & Under and 16 & Under. Both events give young tennis players the opportunity to experience international competition and the unique atmosphere of playing in a team for their country.
At the Finals, 16 teams are drawn into four round-robin groups, with the top two teams in each group progressing to the quarter-finals of a knock-out draw to crown the champions.
Launched by the ITF as the 'World Youth Cup' in 1985, the International Team Competition for players aged 16 & Under was re-branded as the 'Davis Cup Juniors and Billie Jean King Cup Juniors'. The Finals will see the top 16 boys' and girls' teams from regional qualifying compete for the title.
The International Team Competition for players aged 14 & Under was launched by the ITF in 1991. The top 16 boys' and girls' teams from regional qualifying will compete for the title, with over 100 countries represented in the opening stages of the competition.
To reach the Finals at either the World Junior Tennis or Junior Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup, nations play in regional qualifying events. The nation who hosts the Finals automatically gets one space.
